Key points
- Field heat removed within hours of harvest.
- Temperature held through grading, packing, trucking and airline handover.
- Every break in the chain costs shelf life you cannot recover.
Stage 1: Harvest and pre-cooling
Produce is cut early in the morning while temperatures are low, then moved into pre-cooling as quickly as possible. Removing field heat early is the single biggest factor in shelf life.
Stage 2: Grading and packing at temperature
Grading halls are kept cool and handling time is kept short. Herbs are packed into punnets or bunches, chillies are sorted and carton-packed, flowers are bunched and sleeved — all with minimal time outside the cold.

Send us your produce, volume and destination airport and we will reply with availability and pricing.
Stage 3: Cold trucking to JKIA
Sealed consignments travel in refrigerated transport to Nairobi's Jomo Kenyatta International Airport and go straight into the airline cold room rather than sitting on a warm apron.
Stage 4: Flight and arrival
Flights are selected for the shortest total journey, not just the cheapest rate. We share flight details in advance so your clearing agent can collect promptly and return the consignment to cold storage on arrival.
What you can do at your end
Pre-book clearance, collect quickly, and keep boxes shaded and cool during transfer. Two hours on a hot loading bay can undo careful work upstream.
- Clear and collect the same day where possible
- Move into cold storage immediately after collection
- Open, check and rehydrate flowers as soon as they are received
