What KEPHIS does
KEPHIS — the Kenya Plant Health Inspectorate Service — inspects horticultural exports and issues the phytosanitary certificate stating that the consignment meets the plant health requirements of the destination country.
Because requirements differ by market, the inspection and wording are matched to where the produce is going.
The core document set
Most consignments travel with the same four documents, plus anything specific your market or customer requires.

- Air waybill from the carrier

Labelling and traceability
Cartons are labelled with produce, variety, grade, count or weight, pack date and grower or packhouse reference. That traceability matters if a customer ever queries a consignment.
Where a supermarket customer has its own label format, send us the artwork and specification and we will pack to it.
How we reduce your risk
We check destination requirements before harvest, not after packing, and we send scanned documents ahead of the flight so your agent can raise issues while the consignment is still in Nairobi.
